     MAKE SURE EDGES ARE SECURE TO AVOID LINT AND DUST GETTING UNDER
    Cutting Edge     and Sewing Edge are interchangeable in some cases.
  • Cutting Edge (10 strips that last literally forever) only sticks to smooth, slick surfaces whereas Sewing Edge (5 strips that can be cleaned with soap and water but eventually wear out) has a re-positionable adhesive.
  • Sewing Edge is designed thicker so you can feel the fabric up against the edge.
  • The less you remove the Sewing Edge the longer it lasts
  • because only when the adhesive is exposed does it collect lint and dust

The Sewing Edge is as thick as three layers of regular cotton fabric. The Cutting Edge is as thick as two layers of fabric. The Sewing Edge is thicker so that when you are sewing, you can feel that you are up against it but not over it. The Cutting Edge is only two layers because if you have it a lot thicker and are cutting only one layer of fabric, the ruler will rock or move too easily. (I tested several thickness of the strip before deciding on the optimum.)
