The slice work great on both fabric and felt. I recommend that you either get the slice fusible or use wonder under with paper on it. Just make sure it is ironed really well. The design cards are great, can't wait till they get more. I recommend the spray adhesive rather than the brush on. I just put latex gloves and go out on the porch to spray it. It cleans off the glass with windex cleaner. My friend and I have already cut several hundred designs with no problem. It stays charged up for quite awhile, and if it does run low you can always plug it in and use it. blades last quite awhile

For appliqué I only need a few of a certain shape, but I want lots of different shapes!
Slice fabrique uses design cards that have lots and lots of shapes and each shape can be sized up to 4 inches. The machine comes with one card, basic appliqué shapes, and additional cards can be bought for around 35.00. That means I can afford to have a library of shapes on hand. And the shapes are stored on Design cards , tiny little things for storage, no need to store a mountain of dies. Take it anywhere with you -- it is compact - has its own traveling bag, just what I need for adding interest with different designs to my quilts
This machine is simple to use, takes up little space in the sewing room, is cordless, and it works!
