Description

Retayne is a color fixative for commercially dyed cotton, linen, and rayon fabrics that bleed.
Use in the washing machine or treat by hand washing with hot water.
Always test fabric before washing it for the first time.
Only one application is necessary.
You can treat 24 yards with one 4 ounce bottle.
With a finished Quilt -- The proper procedure would seem to be to wash the quilt with Synthrapol (to remove the extra dye), and THEN use Retayne to affix the dye that remains.

Have you ever had a problem with your fabric colors bleeding onto one another?

It’s heartbreaking when it happens but don’t worry, there’s a few ways to prevent and reverse the situation!

Jeans Blue and Black that Bleed July 29, 2018
Reviewer: Avril from Toronto
Thanks for tips.
So annoying when the the color fades so quick, sometimes the color rubs off on hands, other items of clothes - furniture!  it is the dye the manufacturer uses, a better quality would work,  I have used retaryne and it has really been a huge help.  I now wash all blacks and blue jeans in this product before wear.
Some denim is really badly dyed and no matter what the color comes out but you will get help with this product

TIPS FOR SUCCESSFULLY USING RETAYNE JEANS July 29, 2018
Reviewer: Fayette from Quebec
FROM ELLEN'S BLOG -All about Hand Dyeing - -

Jeans - color washes out?
Retayne, need is a large enough bucket, a long-handled spoon or stick for stirring,
place your jeans in the bucket, and cover  with enough VERY HOT water for them to move freely when stirred.   Remove the jeans  -wearing waterproof gloves, mix the Retayne with the water,  one tablespoon (15 milliliters) of Retayne for every pound of dry fabric
Return  to the water and soak for half an hour, stirring occasionally to make sure all areas  are exposed equally to  Retayne. Wear gloves to avoid skin exposure
wash jeans as usual in cool water before wearing.
,Retayne will not work well to fix indigo.
The only way to make indigo permanent, so that it does not fade, is to apply it correctly. There is no way to retroactively make the indigo in jeans stay dark forever. -the color will stay dark longer, every single time, turn your jeans inside-out before washing, wash  in cool water.
