Martelli Mats are my favorite mats. So hard to describe, they are much thicker (and therefore heavier, if that is a concern) and feel almost softer when cutting. They can be rolled, left in the car without warping, and don't crack if dropped. DH dropped my Olfa when it had been in the car and was cold, it cracked in half.

They are two-sided, one side purple, one side soft yellow.

I bought this large mat to replace an older, smaller mat (different manufacturer..) to fit my home sewing room cutting table (30x60) so that I can cut from pattern piece to pattern piece without having to deftly maneuver a too-small mat under the fabric as I cut. It fits perfectly, as planned, but....the Martelli is a thicker mat than the old one, super to cut on and easy on the rotary cutting bladesl  I love that it is 2-sided with different colours, all gridded out. Highly recommend!!

I bought this mat and love it! It is everything the company says it is. Cannot say enough GOOD things about it. No smell when it was bought and my blades last for a long, long time (I cut almost every day). great to purchase in Canada
