Stitch Length Regulator -- controls number of stitches per inch, forward and in reverse
For a vintage machine the stitch length is set manually with a lever:
Vintage sewing machine stitch lengths are set by stitches per inch. Putting the stitch length lever to 10 gets you 10 stitches per inch.
Remember to clean around this lever - lint and dirt can get stuck here.
